  • Does color analysis work for everyone?
Yes, it absolutely does! One of the remarkable things about color analysis is that it works for every individual, no matter their skin tone, ethnicity, or background. During your session, we’ll explore how understanding your unique color palette can give you the confidence to own your style and look sophisticated in any situation. Once you find your perfect Iconic Colors, you’ll have a guide to help you always look polished and powerful. For teenagers, I offer junior sessions to help them discover their best colors during these transitional years. Keep in mind, their palette may shift slightly after puberty, but it’s a great way to start building their color confidence early.
  • How should I prepare for a color analysis appointment?
Dress comfortably, ideally in layers, but avoid high necklines such as turtlenecks, collars, or hoods. Please come without makeup to ensure an accurate analysis. Feel free to bring your own drink or snack, though I will provide water to keep you refreshed.
  • Is color analysis worth the cost?
Absolutely! Think of it as a one-time investment that saves you both time and money in the long run. Imagine the amount spent on clothes that you’ve only worn once or never at all because they just didn’t feel right. Over a lifetime, color analysis can save you thousands by eliminating shopping mistakes and helping you confidently build a wardrobe filled with clothes that make you feel and look amazing every time you wear them. Plus, knowing your Iconic Colors gives you the power to feel at your best, every day.
  • Do you offer group sessions?
Yes, I do! Color Countess Parties are a fun way to discover your Iconic Colors with friends, colleagues, or family. Visit the Services page to learn more about how you can make color analysis a group experience.
  • Where are you located?
My studio is based in New Albany, OH, just outside Columbus. Virtual appointments are also available, and I offer travel services for an additional fee depending on the distance.
  • What happens during a color analysis session?
We’ll start by covering the basics of how color works and what makes each palette unique. Then, we’ll move into the draping process, where I’ll show you how different colors interact with your skin tone in controlled lighting. This is where we identify which shades enhance your natural beauty and bring out your best features. Once we determine your season and potential sub-season, I’ll explain how to use your personalized Palette Passport to shop for clothing, accessories, makeup, and more. You’ll walk away knowing how to build a wardrobe full of your most flattering shades.
  • I think I already know which colors suit me. Why would I need a color analysis?
You might feel confident in some colors already, but color is far more complex than “I look good in red” or “green doesn’t suit me.” For example, while one person might look amazing in a deep burgundy, another’s best red might be a soft watermelon. The beauty of color analysis is that it narrows down exactly which shades of each color make you look your best. You’ll have a personalized Palette Passport that guides you through your ideal reds, blues, greens, neutrals and more—giving you confidence and sophistication in every shade.
  • Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, gift certificates are available! If you’d like to purchase one, email me at Megan@TheColorCountess.com to get started
  • Does my color palette change if my hair color changes?
No, your season stays the same because it’s based on your skin tone, and your natural hair color. If your hair is dyed, during your analysis, we’ll cover your hair to ensure the most accurate results, but afterward, we can also discuss hair colors that align with your palette if you’re considering a change.
  • Does my season change when I tan or grow paler?
No, your color palette remains constant. Tan is an overtone, not an undertone, so it’s not assessed in the analysis. However, each season includes a range of lighter and darker shades, so you might feel more drawn to one end of that spectrum as your skin tone changes with the seasons. For example, when you’re tanner, you might find the bolder colors in your palette feel more fitting, while the lighter shades complement you best when your skin is lighter.
  • My hair is gray, will that affect my analysis?
Not at all! If your hair has naturally grayed or whitened, those shades are part of your natural color harmony. Your season will still complement your skin and hair, and in fact, gray or white hair often works beautifully with a seasonal palette, highlighting its sophisticated and timeless quality.
  • I’ve had a color analysis before. Will my results be different this time?
It’s possible! We use the advanced 16-palette system from the International Image Institute, which provides a more precise and detailed analysis than traditional 4, 10, or 12-season systems. Those older methods may not account for neutral undertones, which could mean you weren’t given the most accurate results. Our system includes a broader range of options, giving you a more specific palette tailored to your unique coloring.
  • What if black isn’t in my palette? Do I have to get rid of it?
You can absolutely still wear black! If it’s not part of your color palette, we’ll explore ways to balance it with complementary colors through your hair, accessories, jewelry and makeup to create harmony and maintain your best look
  • Do you offer pop-up store parties?
We do! If you like to inquire about having a pop-up at your retail location, please email Megan@TheColorCountess.com to coordinate.
